Balsamic Mushrooms
Submitted by:The Core DietThis quick-to-make recipe can dress up any lean protein, or can be a simple side-dish! Although the recipe calls for white mushrooms, you can substitute for others such as portobello or shiitake. Leftovers are perfect to spice up your salad the next day for lunch!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 12 ounces white mushroom, halved
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red-pepper flakes
- freshly ground pepper
Instructions
- Heat oil in skillet over med-high heat.
- Add mushrooms; cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in vinegar, salt and red-pepper flakes; season with pepper.
- Cook one minute more.
